UC Baby, Ottawa May 2019

In the middle of May Marie and I drove to Embrun to accompany Christina, Alec and Damien to Ottawa to view their newest arrival-to-be, baby "D" via the 3D ultrasound at UCBaby. We stopped overnight in Montreal first before continuing the next day into Ontario. After breakfast the next morning we all met up at UCBaby for an early appointment and looked forward to seeing Damien's brother for the first time. Once everything was up and running and Christina's belly had been smeared with the gel we did discern some features of the little guy but he wasn't very cooperative, hiding his face as if he knew we were trying to watch him. Damien wasn't sure what it was all about but he did manage to spend some screen time with mama. The baby's heartbeat was strong and steady so he appears to be developing fine and on schedule for August. Session two, in June, hopefully will be more rewarding. Afterwards a stopover at MacDonald's and then back to Embrun where I took Damien for a bike ride to the park. When we returned to Montreal, we picked up Ben who we had left with Amy and William to look after, then headed home and, wishful thinking, to some warmer temperatures. This has been the coldest winter and spring in 65 years and I pray it will not be the start of a new Ice Age.  Did we put the snowmobile into storage too soon.... gws
