Late October Skies

One of my favourite Robert Frost poems I thought I would share with you titled Fire and Ice. It accompanies a small watercolour I did this morning in class. The sight of the bare trees awaiting the cold of winter, a hint of colour still left in the hills of the northern Appalachians and shorter days made me think of how we will soon go into hibernation...

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
