It was a ten minute walk to the Gare in La Rochelle from our B&B and another short wait for the train to Paris. There were few people about at that time but the train was packed and we only had three stops before arriving in Montparnasse Station. We took the No.6 Metro to Denfert-Rochereau where we waited for the Aeroport d'Orly bus for over half an hour. We had three hours before our flight so we weren't in any particular hurry anyway. Paris that morning was sunny and warm and tempted us to stay another week...

La Rochelle Gare and the Three Towers |
We were on time and soon winging our way over the English Channel, looking down at the exact spots in Kent and in Normandy where we had been only a few weeks earlier. It was another boring wait in London where, after a cramped and unexpected bus ride to the far reaches of the airport we changed planes for the remainder of our journey. The flight was mostly empty so British Air didn't make any money that day. I guess nobody wants to go to Montreal in May...Phil picked us up at Pierre Trudeau in Montreal where we stayed the night before heading home to recuperate. Carolyn and Michael are dropping in for a few days later in the week on their way home to Utah then we are off to Boston at the end of the month to attend the wedding of Mario and Elizabeth, Marie's brother. It looks like it will be a busy summer! Maybe though we can find time to plan the next trip across the pond and some new place to wander about...
