Thanks to our Airbnb host Garvin we made our 1230PM bus to Dublin airport from his home in Belfast and, with just ten minutes to spare, we were on our way to Baile Atha Cliath, 'town of the hurdled ford' or more commonly: Dublin, capital of the Republic of Ireland. The airport was typically busy but we had our new rental (brand new Citroën Cleo, the same kind of car we had in France in 2017) and were on our way in no time. The sky was overcast but still bright and the beautiful Irish countryside lived up to its name The Emerald Isle as we headed towards our night's stopover in Rathdrum, a beautiful little village in County Wicklow. Through here the Avonmore river flows through the Vale of Clara and joins up with the Avonbeg River at the 'Meetings of the Waters', a spot we would visit tomorrow on our way south. Tonight though we went into town for supper at a very highly rated pub and restaurant, Jacob's Well, chatted awhile with our hosts and fellow travelers, two girls from South Africa and then bed. GWS
